Heroes’ Hall, our afterschool RPG club, is one of the biggest afterschool activities at our little public middle school in NH. Pre-Covid, we had 50 members who attended regularly, and we look to do the same this year. We run our club with student DMs, who work in pairs to run their own tables. This frees up the adult to help navigate any conflict and answer questions, acting as the coach instead of the all knowing DM. Our ultimate goal is to teach the students how to play well enough that they can have their own campaigns at home, evaluate game experiences for equity and communication, and be confident to strike out to have their own epic adventures in their real lives!!
